listening course
Re the listening course recommended for HSK prep at chinese-forums.com, 漢語听力系列教材 (han4yu2 ting1li4 xi4lie4 jiao4cai2). Some vocabulary that I had to look up:
Chapter 7
幽默 you1mo4, humorous
放学 fang4xue2, school is over (for the day)
吞吞吐吐 tun1tun1tu3tu3, (hesitantly, incoherently) [as in how a student might 请假, under false pretenses]
This word 吞 seems to appear a lot in this series, reference the vignette about the 2 boys at the hospital, one of whom had swallowed a marble, the other, was waiting to get it back. (我在等那个玻璃求因为是我的)
Then there are the interesting instructions:
连续听两遍录音，请判断下列句子的正误。(lian2xu4 ting1 liang3bian4 lu4yin1, qing pan4duan4 xia4lie4 ju4zi de zheng4wu2] -- Listen to the tape 2 times in a row, then for the following senences, decide which are true or false.
